Google Hangouts and Chat

On Google Hangouts and Google Chat is what we explored last week. On Google Chat you can chat with people from anywhere kind of like Skype. If you are at a concert and your friends are at home and you wan them to experience the music from how close you are, go to Google Hangouts and stream through live air chat. It would be an awesome thing to use if you want to use it during a game too. On Google Hangout you can have up to ten people chatting with you. On the top left is the logo for Google Chat. The bottom right is what the layout would look like if you had a business conference with your coworkers!

Google Voice

Last class we explored something called Google Voice. It is this really cool gadget type thing where you can link all your phone numbers and when you receive a call it comes straight to you phone. For instance, when someone calls your home number and you aren't home, but you have it connected to Google Voice. The call would come up on your cell phone and you could answer it. And remember, Google Voice is only used in the United States. You can also link all your emails into one thing too!

Today we explored Kerpoof. It is a fun little site where you can create cards or movies or pictures. It is a cool site. Today we had to create a card, drawing, picture, and a movie. I just wrote or drew to random things on the card! I would recommend this to your friends! It goes in order from what I said, card, drawing, picture, and a moive!

Toon Doo

In the past week we have been trying to create a comic book on ToonDoo. It hasn't been working for me very well. It is a fun site when it works, but lately it hasn't been working very well for anyone. I would like to create a comic book strip and make a funny one, but it won't seem to work. I've tried to make a TraitR and it won't let me save it. I don't know what it is about ToonDoo, but it doesn't like our class.

My only one i have is in the United States, but I have five views since I added the Flag Counter. Photo Editing

Today in class we explored more photo editing sites. I explored many sites but only a few I liked. On some you couldn't do many funny options due to the fact that you had to have an account to use that. This one on the right is from piZap and I edited Rogan's face to make him look funny. The other one is of Rogan in 15 years with a beard. Another good site was PicMonkey, but you couldn't use a bunch of tools becasue you had to be a member to use those. This is my business guy. I did the business guy on FotoFlexer. If you have some photos of funny friends and want to make them even more goofy, go to piZap or PicMonkey,

Teachweb2

Today I search around on teachweb2. It was alright a lot of sights you had to explore, but one of the best I found was Brain Pop. It was alright, it had some health games, and some math and all sorts of subjects!

Class Tools

Last class we explored Class Tools and Super Teacher Tools. They are cool sites that you can use when having trouble picking a name. There is a random name or word picker so if you have a bunch of words or names that you can't decide which one to choose. This site could help you out a bunch! On Super Teach Tools, the best of most cool thing I found was the Fact Desk. It has hundreds of fact and just random facts. For example, the only mammal that can't jump is an elephant. On the top right, this is the Random Word or Name Picker from Class Tools. On the bottom right is the Fact Desk!

Claymation

Today we went to Claymation to create avatars. These are some of the avatars I made. These people were made out of clay. If you want to have fun and try to create yourself or make silly looking people.

Click here to go to Claymation and create your fun guy.

Hangman Games

Today we searched other peoples blogs to see what types of hangman or crosswords or word searches they had. We played them and commented on the different games. Rogan and Tate's were my favorite because Rogan's was about basketball teams and Tate's was about anything and everything! In this picture, I was playing hangman in Westin's blog. It was over science, it made it interesting and was fun!

Avatar

Today in class we explored different avatar sites. We could create as many on the site as we wanted too. The first site we explored was named Build Yourself Wild. Click here to go to it. On that site you could make a regular human or you could make him with animal parts. On my second one was South Park Studios. Click here to go to South Park Studios. On this site for avatars, you could make them look just like characters off South Park. Or make them however you want them to look. We also tried Dopple Me, but a lot of the funny or cool accessories were locked or we couldn't access. The last one here is OSOQ. You start by clicking here to go to OSOQ. On this one there is animations so it will flash or sparkle. It was probably my third favorite out of all. My second favorite was Build Yourself Wild, that is just a funny site! And last but not least South Park Studios was my favorite avatar site.

Google Earth

Today we had to download Google Earth. Personally I don't like it as much as Google Maps. I think it is harder to navigate and it takes forever to load. If you search something on Google Earth it takes forever to get it to the place you are wanting to search for and sometimes it won't even show up. On Google Maps you can easily search with ease and not have to get mad at waiting. On Google Earth I searched two different places and the same picture showed up on both. Yeah, it's a cool feature, but I'm going to stick with using Google Maps to find my destinations.

iGoogle

Today in class we had to make an iGoogle and add gadgets that our teachers wants us to and last week we had to search for a multiple gadgets. One that interested me was the Livestrong Fitness Tip of the Day. 8,063 users use this gadget on iGoogle. This will help with getting into shape if you desire to use those tips.  I also found a gadget that has comics!! If you actually had a fun childhood or still are you like comics!! It's called GoComics.com and it has a comic of the day or you can go to the full site and look at more comics? There are 393,339 users on this gadget!  If you like to hear Spanish word you cold try this app. It is a Spanish word of the day, it tells you a random Spanish word and tells you what it means! There are 74,717 users using this gadget.

Google Maps

Last Wednesday we explored Google Maps last week. Google has many different views. You can have live traffic feed,  or you can have the satellite or map mode. You can now download the newest Google Maps and it is in 3D. Also a neat feature Google has added is that you can search for a place to go and it will tell you the directions you can go to get there. I have added two photos over the satellite mode and maps mode. the pictures are both Safeco Field in Seattle, Washington. The top is satellite mode and bottom is maps mode.

Google Doodle

What is Google Doodle? It is the icon that shows up on Google when you go to search on Google. Google changes it every day and has different designs for every season. For example there were a few about the Olympics this summer. They had Hurdles, Basketball, and Soccer. All those you can actually play. There is also Pacman since it was its 30th Anniversary. For every holiday there is a Google Doodle. Some are animations and some aren't. I hope you can find one that you like when you explore Google!

FeedJit

The other day we learned about this gadget named FeedJit. It tells you how many people have visited your site. It also says where they are from and who it us. It is a live feed gadget. There are a variety of different colors that you can set it at. Mine is Pony Pastels. Mine are from my classmates and my teacher.

Favicon

Today in class we learned about a site called Favicon. It's a site that you can make a picture and can be put in front of your web address. It has tiny pixels and you have a curtain amount of space for you to create a picture or if you'd like, you could upload a photo also. If you go to Favicon, register yourself and start drawing. Once your done, you'll have to upload the photo you just drew on your site. Then your photo will most likely show up and could look like my photo here.

Blogging on the iPad

Today in Computer Essentials we downloaded the Blogger app to our iPad. If you view your blog on your iPad it looks the exact same, but you can't do as much with the iPads as you could with computers. I prefer to use the computer, there are more advantages with computer version than the iPad app. In the app you can't edit as easily as the computer and you can't explore some websites because the iPads don't have flash. Other than some of those minor disadvantages I wouldn't mind posting a couple blog posts every once and a while. I would recommend this app to any blogger who uses Blogger. It definitely can be used to its advantage when on vacation or on a trip! Here is a picture of my blog on the iPad app.
