Personas

The other day in class we played around with a site called Personas. What is Personas? I'll tell you what it is. If you notice my picture at the top, it shows Batman. What you do is go to Personas website and choose a category. Then when you find one that you like, choose it and it should pop up at the top like my picture. It only works on FireFox.

FeedJit

The other day we learned about this gadget named FeedJit. It tells you how many people have visited your site. It also says where they are from and who it us. It is a live feed gadget. There are a variety of different colors that you can set it at. Mine is Pony Pastels. Mine are from my classmates and my teacher.

Favicon

Today in class we learned about a site called Favicon. It's a site that you can make a picture and can be put in front of your web address. It has tiny pixels and you have a curtain amount of space for you to create a picture or if you'd like, you could upload a photo also. If you go to Favicon, register yourself and start drawing. Once your done, you'll have to upload the photo you just drew on your site. Then your photo will most likely show up and could look like my photo here.

Blogging on the iPad

Today in Computer Essentials we downloaded the Blogger app to our iPad. If you view your blog on your iPad it looks the exact same, but you can't do as much with the iPads as you could with computers. I prefer to use the computer, there are more advantages with computer version than the iPad app. In the app you can't edit as easily as the computer and you can't explore some websites because the iPads don't have flash. Other than some of those minor disadvantages I wouldn't mind posting a couple blog posts every once and a while. I would recommend this app to any blogger who uses Blogger. It definitely can be used to its advantage when on vacation or on a trip! Here is a picture of my blog on the iPad app.

Symbaloo

My class searched Symbaloo today. Symbaloo is a social bookmarking site. You have tiles and you can search for almost anything and drag it into a tile spot. People can share there bookmarks or tiles by posing them with links on the website. Every tile has links to eachone. So if I click on ESPN it will go to the ESPN site. Symbaloo is a free site. You can create your own free Symbaloo so you can have your own tiles. You can have different webmixes for different activities. If you want one for all sports you can have up to 52 tiles per webmix. It is a great way to quickly go to different sites. My tiles consists of NBA, NHL, MLS, NBA, Barclays Premier League, and other social networking sites.

Blogger Gadgets

My favorite gadget I've found was Sprinter. You have to use the arrow keys to race the computer.
Another one I found was Translate. You can translate anything on my blog or your blog to any language. I also found a virtual, she didn't do anything except stare at you. Tic tac toe was a fun game to play. Harry Potter Quittich tips was another one i found.
